When following this process, users will likely be tired and unwilling to engage with anything perceived as complex. This was a problem with the previous version of the process, which overloaded users by listing all steps in one screen.
Solutions
Helped users make an educated choice about whether to update by providing a time estimate and reassuring them that they could always update later.
Used short sentences and simple copy across multiple screens to reduce cognitive load.
